NC-17 rating for Bruno

bruno

UH OH. Sacha Baron Cohen is causing a ruckus. Apparently his new movie of his gaytastic alter ego Bruno is causing major issues. After the MPAA screened the movie for themselves they where inclined to give it an intense rating of NC-17. Obviously the studio that is backing the movie was not having this. Borat, Ali G, I mean Sacha needs to go back to the drawing board and make some cuts. Hopefully it all works out…looks hilarious.

Mafia Game

mafia

Rating: *****

You will need: Deck of cards / 15+ people (this much is necessary to make the game interesting)

Creator: unknown

Category: Strategy/Teamwork

Review: Wow I’m in love. If only I could play this once a week with a group of friends. My best bud Craig invited me over his friend Eva’s house where she was having game night. I was told we where going to play a game called Mafia. When I got there I wasn’t expecting 13 other people waiting to start the game. It was awesome! Read below on how to play Mafia.

How to Play: They’re can be up to 4 different roles in this game. Mafia, Doctor, Angel, and of course the Towns People. Each role has a vital importance to the game. The main goal of the game is different for each role. There is 4 mafia in the game whom work together. They must kill off everyone without being unveiled as the mafia. Towns people, angel, and doctor are all on a team. Unfortunately you don’t know who these people are without some clever strategy. They’re goal is to out the Mafia and get them killed. Ok so now that you know the roles this is how the game is played.

There is a person who leads the game as the narrator. The first round he/she passes out your card, let’s you read it, and memorize it. Comes back around to collect the cards after you have had a chance to memorize who you are. Each card has a different meaning.

Jack: Doctor

Kings: Mafia (awesome role)

2-9: Towns people

Ace: Angel

Now that everyone knows what role they are the narrator will do the next few steps. I’ll write this out like a script to make it more understanding.

Cop detain running back for running a red light

Monday, March 30th, 2009

I just have to say right now I feel most cops are JACKASSES. Sorry Jay (friend cop). This cop is being a complete jackass about this man running a red light to get to the hospital. His mother in law is dying and the cop just keeps saying..”so what, get your insurance”. What an asshole. My buddy said after this video was released the police gave a verbal apology to the Dallas Cowboys running back.

Microsoft tries to be cute and fails

Monday, March 30th, 2009

This video is the stupidest ad that Microsoft could ever create. First off why would some random consumer chick want a 17″ screen? Seriously? I work in production and do photography and even I don’t want a 17″. Of course Apple has expensive computers. The 17″ is $2799 for good reason. It’s for production use. Not to say some fool couldn’t buy it just to buy it but come on. No one needs a 17″ unless your doing production work. The pixels get more condensed as you get bigger in size. Her buying the 17″ is to assume she wants a bigger screen when all you get is squinted eyes. Anyways enough of my ranting…just watch this shitastic movie!

A Clockwork Orange (1971)

clockwork_orange

Directed by: Stanley Kubrick

Cast:

Malcolm McDowell as Alex

Theatrical Release: February 2nd, 1971

Synopsis: From its opening shot of Malcolm McDowell staring with evil intent directly into the camera (which pulls back to reveal him drinking a glass of milk), Stanley Kubrick’s brilliant A CLOCKWORK ORANGE announces itself as a completely new kind of viewing experience. The film, set in an unidentified future, overwhelms the senses with its almost comic depictions of rape and violence set to an upbeat classical and pop music score. Kubrick based his chilling masterpiece on Anthony Burgess’s culture-shaking novel about a young man growing into adulthood, but unable to shake his huge problem with authority figures. The first part of the film shows Alex (a career-defining performance by McDowell) and his “droogs” (his cohorts) indulging in what they refer to as “a little bit of the old ultraviolence.” After establishing Alex and co. as unremitting psychopaths, Kubrick’s movie changes tact, and shows Alex getting caught and forced to undergo controversial treatment that will make it impossible for him to commit violent acts, leading to a fascinating ending to the film. A CLOCKWORK ORANGE purposely confuses crime and punishment, cause and effect, hero and villain, irony and satire, and many other concepts, creating a truly unique work of art in the process. Its magnificent, colorful, futuristic set designs and utter determination to shock, frighten, and thoroughly entertain left audiences reeling in the ’70s. Kubrick even withdrew the film from distribution in the UK, after reading newspaper reports of people dressing up as Alex and his Droogs and meting out their own brand of ultraviolence (it was subsequently rereleased after his death). One thing is for sure: No one who has seen it has ever been able to hear “Singin’ in the Rain” or Beethoven again in quite the same way.

My Review: Don’t hate me but I’m not sure how I feel about this movie just yet. Hence why I rated it a C. I did love many scenes in the movie but overall I was a little upset with some scenes where I wanted to rip my hair out. The one thing you have to just fall in love with is the music. They play the theme song many times through out but I never got sick of it. Since this is such a well known movie and Kubrick is a legend I’ll have to watch this one more time. When I do I’ll come back and review it for the second time.

Overall Rating: C

Amazing piece of work.
