In memory of: Custom DJ AM Nikes

mysha_bothshoes

Courtesy of my talented girl Mysha I have some custom Nikes which are in memory of Adam Goldstein (aka. DJAM). You’ll see on the top picture the left shoe has the DJAM logo with the lightning bolt in the middle. On the right a turn table. The back of the shoes have two numbers on each. ‘73 on the left for AM’s birth year and on the right ‘09, his tragic year of death.

Below you’ll see the left inner part of the shoe with a vector painting of Adam.

The next picture below is of the right inner shoe. You’ll see headphones and its cord. The cord wraps from the inner portion, over the front sole, all the way to the outer right part of the shoe. It then connects to the turntable you saw in the first picture.

The last two show the back with the years and the turntable up close. I hope everyone likes them. Leave a comment on this post if you like them and I’ll relay the message to Mysha.

Top 3 Word Games for iPhone and iPod Touch

Sunday, August 30th, 2009

I’ve been playing a ton of ‘word games’ lately on my iPhone and just can’t get enough of them. It’s a great way to cure any boredom you may have or if you just need to simply waste some time. I’ve listed below the top 3 I feel are the best word games on the iPhone or iPod Touch. Comment on this post and let me know if you think something is better then what I posted.

wordfu_app This game is the king of all word games that have come out of the App Store. It’s the Bruce Lee of word games actually. It has great sound effects and amazing visuals. Created by the same makers of Topple, ngmoco:) is killing the App Store with their games. My favorite part of the game is just trying to beat my previous scores. You get a notice if you broke your last record or even the last game you previously played. For .99 cents this game can’t be beat.

jumbleclassic_app Fantastic game to exercise the brain. It’s actually quite embarrassing playing this when you miss a word that should be so obvious to you. For those of you who don’t know what a word jumble is it’s usually a game you play where you have a specific amount of letters in random order. With those letters you have to create a specific word which was already pre chosen. The twist that makes this game even more challenging is the time limit and the fact that you have to unscramble 4 words. After you unscramble the 4 words you must figure out the little cartoon question. Usually the question is something simple. For example if it’s two guys on a boat fishing the question might be, “What did the fisherman say about the fish?”. Fun stuff. Worth the $3.99.

scrabble_app I don’t think I have to talk much about this game. This is a family game night classic or maybe the game you play when you visit your grandparents. The cost is a little steep but you can’t justify it compared to the actual board game cost. It’s currently $4.99 on the iTunes App store. Activision, the Tony Hawk developers have taken on iPhone games and produced this classic.

RIP Adam Goldstein aka. DJ AM

March 30th, 1973 – August 28th, 2009 – he was 36

The sad news of Adam’s death hit me while I was at work yesterday. I’ve followed DJ AM since I moved to LA. He was not only one of the top DJ’s in Hollywood but he was known to travel all around to open up new clubs and venue’s. I still cannot believe he has passed. Just last year he survived a plane crash in which 4 died and 2 injured. His good friend Travis Barker was one of the injured along with AM.

He was found dead in his New York apartment from what was assumed to be an overdose. Unfortunately he had a relapse after many years of being sober. Many are saying it could be because of his brush of death last year with the plane accident which brought on the drug use.

So many DJ’s and fans are mourning his death today. Twitter alone can prove how many are hurting from this loss. He will be missed.

RIP Adam. click to read his wikipedia page here

TheFinalDestination

Directed by: David R. Ellis

Cast:

Bobby Campo as Nick O’Bannon

Shantel VanSanten as Lori Milligan

Nick Zano as Hunt Wynorski

Theatrical Release: August 28th, 2009

Synopsis: On what should have been a fun-filled day at the races, Nick O’Bannon has a horrific premonition in which a bizarre sequence of events causes multiple race cars to crash, sending flaming debris into the stands, brutally killing his friends and causing the upper deck of the stands to collapse on him. When he comes out of this grisly nightmare Nick panics, persuading his girlfriend, Lori, and their friends, Janet and Hunt, to leave… escaping seconds before Nick’s frightening vision becomes a terrible reality. Thinking they’ve cheated death, the group has a new lease on life, but unfortunately for Nick and Lori, it is only the beginning. As his premonitions continue and the crash survivors begin to die one-by-one — in increasingly gruesome ways — Nick must figure out how to cheat death once and for all before he, too, reaches his final destination. The film marks the latest in the highly popular Final Destination series, and its first 3D installment, giving horror fans an especially visceral thrill ride. –© Warner Bros

My Review: Okay so this movie was entertaining I will give it that. I still feel the original was the best. You can’t really hate on the cheesiness of it because it was much expected. Actually I expected much more then you actually got. The 3D portion of the movie was great. Many times the crowd in the theater went nuts during a death scene. It was rather cool. I’m loving the 3D movies. I now possess some sick 3D custom glasses so I’m ready for Avatar!

Overall Rating: C

Anderson Cooper hates Speidi

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

I have gained so much more respect for Anderson Cooper. He goes all out in saying how much he loathes Heidi’s performance on the Miss Universe Pageant. I myself am not really sure why she even performed. Her dancing was horrible and lip synching your own song? Come on!
