Jose Cuervo and Ford have teamed up to test how the excess agave from creating tequila can be given a second chance as a part of a Ford vehicle. First the hearts of the plant are harvested – which usually takes 10 years to mature – followed by them being roasted and pressed to make tequila. These by-products are then put through strenuous tests to see what sort-of parts they can create. Through unique partnerships like this one with Jose Cuervo, Ford is successfully offsetting their petroleum use as they find new sustainable materials to use in their vehicles.
