Mercedes gives their G-Class a rugged look with their latest offering, the G500 4×4. We saw a similar version of this previously when they released the monster G63 AMG 6×6 — a half-million-dollar, six-wheeled monster powered by Affalterbach’s 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8. The toned down G500 is likely the result of the G63, but hopefully with a more reasonable price tag for Mercedes fans.

Outside of its bigger wheels and jacked-up suspension, the Mercedes G500 4×4 looks like a typical G-Wagen. Currently we’ve only seen it in the greenish yellow hue shown above, but I assume it will have all the traditional G-Class color options available. One thing is for sure, the G500 name tells me it will have at least the 382-horsepower, non-AMG version of the 5.5-liter V8 that we know from the G550.

Further info about the Mercedes G500 4×4 will be released next week when it makes its debut in Geneva. Here’s to hoping they find a reasonable price tag for Mercedes fans.
