Friday, February 26th, 2010
Directed by: Pierre Morel
Cast:
John Travolta as Charlie Wax
Jonathan Rhys Meyers as James Reece
Theatrical Release: Februrary 5th, 2010
Synopsis: A personal aide to the U.S. Ambassador in France, James Reese (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) has an enviable life in Paris and a beautiful French girlfriend, but his real passion is his side job as a low-level operative for the CIA. All James wants is to become a bona fide agent and see some real action. So when he’s offered his first senior-level assignment, he can’t believe his good luck – until he meets his new partner, special agent Charlie Wax (John Travolta).
A trigger-happy, wisecracking, loose cannon who’s been sent to Paris to stop a terrorist attack, Wax leads James on a white-knuckle shooting spree through the Parisian underworld that has James praying for his desk job. But when James discovers he’s a target of the same crime ring they’re trying to bust, he realizes there’s no turning back…and that Wax himself might be his only hope for making it through the next forty-eight hours alive.
Starring John Travolta, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Kasia Smutniak and Richard Durden, FROM PARIS WITH LOVE is directed by Pierre Morel (TAKEN) and produced by Virginie Besson-Silla. –© Lionsgate
My Review: Besides the lack of acting skills displayed by non-other then Jonathon Rhys Meyers, I would say this movie was highly entertaining. Travolta has always impressed me in his movies. The action and mayhem was just enough. I’m a huge fan of Pierre Morel and absolutely loved Taken.

Animate something fast with Moviestorm
Thursday, February 18th, 2010This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Moviestorm. All opinions are 100% mine.

Ever want to animate something and call it your own? I certainly have wanted to and you can with the help of Moviestorm. Many people try to animate but come up short. They don’t want to deal with all of the headache and time consuming aspects of animation. Such as modeling characters and scenes. Setup the lighting or dynamics. All of these contribute to a well made movie and MovieStorm is here to help.
So how much does Moviestorm cost? Not very much at all. It’s not something you pay for all at once. The creators setup a unique pay as you go system using subscriptions. For $8/month you get access to a virtual movie studio which gives you access to create your animated movie. That equals $0.25/day.
They even have cool contests for you to enter and have the chance to win a new Apple iMac. That’s pretty sweet. Go join the Moviestorm Challenge
So how would I use this application? I personally would use it for film projects I work on. It’s nice to be able to rough up a mock scene of what I want to shoot before I shoot it. Imagine having a visual storyboard rather than a hand drawn one. Most don’t relate to the paper anymore and want everything digital. What better way to show off your idea then to have a 3d environment display your ideas.
- There’s a free version for Windows and Mac that gives you an idea how it works.http://www.moviestorm.co.uk/index.php/download/download_moviestorm
- There are lots of content packs, so you can make all sorts of movies: horror, cop shows, romance, music videos, sci-fi etc. https://www.moviestorm.co.uk/MSDB/RentalBundlesServlet

Cast:
Julia Roberts as Captain Kate Hazeltine
Jessica Alba as Morley Clarkson
Bradley Cooper as Holden
Ashton Kutcher as Reed Bennett
Theatrical Release: Februrary 14th, 2010
Synopsis: After the success of HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO YOU, VALENTINE’S DAY arrives to make cinemagoers swoon. Garry Marshall directs a star-studded ensemble, including Julia Roberts, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Garner, Bradley Cooper, Patrick Dempsey, and Jamie Foxx.
My Review: Great movie. This movie was by far one of the biggest surprises I’ve had watching a film in a long time. Specifically because of the star studded cast. I lost count how many big name actors was in the film. They all meshed together perfectly. You really get to know the characters and love them. I highly recommend bringing your loved one to see it. If you’re alone this Valentines Day then bring a date or a good friend. Either way you’ll love it!

Zoo (2007)
Wednesday, February 10th, 2010
Directed by: Robinson Devor
Cast:
John Paulsen as Mr. Hands
Theatrical Release: May 30th, 2007
Synopsis: One of the many challenges of documentary filmmaking can often be how to present shocking or outrageous events without sensationalizing them. With ZOO, film writers Robinson Devor and Charles Mudede certainly had their work cut out for them. In 2006, a news story broke that a man in Washington state had died while trying to have sex with a horse. Using a rather unconventional documentary style, Devor and Mudede decided to explore the incident, and delve into the secretive subculture of zoophilia. Foregoing the traditional interview techniques generally favored in documentaries, the film is composed almost entirely of scene reenactment, with actors standing in for all of the key players. The real people involved would lend only their taped voices, as they did not wish for their true identities to be revealed. Visually, the film is quite beautiful, and flows across the screen with a dreamy, ethereal quality. Scenes are often shaded in deep violets and midnight blues, and the many shadowed, slow motion shots move as though underwater. Contrary to what one might expect, it is devoid of graphic imagery (save for one extremely brief scene), and anyone interested for shock value alone will be greatly disappointed. However, those wishing to learn more about the psychology of zoophilia will also find the film lacking. Rather than educate its audience, the film’s sole purpose seems to be to humanize the people involved, and to ask for empathy. This is a noble enough goal, and one that the filmmakers achieve to a certain degree. However, by the film’s end, the world of zoophiliacs still feels cloaked in mystery. If their lives are lived in shadow, ZOO doesn’t do much in the way of shedding any light. Viewers will doubtless be stirred emotionally by the film, but they are likely to walk away with more questions than answers.
My Review: Not for the easily squeamish. The synopsis probably says enough about what this documentary was really about. I was scarred by the murder when I saw it back in 2008. Recently I found out about this documentary while talking about it with one of my co-workers. We both have seen the video of the man named ‘Mr Hands’ getting killed by the horse. This dude seriously took the horse like it was a day in the park. I’m talking like it wasn’t his first day at the rodeo. Porn stars where jealous.
What really makes me sick about this movie is the guys that where involved with the taping narrate it. It makes it even more realistic but it’s just plain disturbing. They rationalize why they do what they do. I’m pretty sure you can’t rationalize having sex with a horse. Weirdos!

A new take on reviewing
Tuesday, February 9th, 2010I’m a big fan of review sites as well as writing a few reviews of my own. I tend to just read reviews and when ever possible watch videos of people talking about a certain product or movie. Finally I’ve found a place where they provide current movie reviews in video format. This I love. It’s called IamRogue.com.
That’s not all they have. They have movies, music, pop culture, and much more. I caught a specifically funny interview with Jonah Hill. He’s talking about how he hates Twitter. The interview was rugged with cursing and uncensored content. Really entertaining and original.
