Ever wanted to pop open a soda with lunch or just have the craving for something bubbly and sweet? You may think again after reading this study.
According to a report that was published in the American Journal of Epidemiology on March 25th, soda could lead to fertility problems in males.
Wait is that a bad thing? I mean how many guys are thinking about having kids at a young age, right? If your trying to have kids then this would make more sense. Woman are going to start hiding soda from their hubbies so that they will have super sperm.
Sherman J. Silber, M.D., finds the study absurd. Don’t believe me? Read below what he feels about the research that was done.
“This study is absurd,” says the director of the Infertility Center of St. Louis and the author of “How to Get Pregnant,” told AOL Health. “You have to average at least 12 sperm counts over at least a six-month period … because there is so much variation in sperm count within the same man.”
He makes a valid point. The study did test many men yet they all had an average sperm count. Yes, some had lower with the consumption of soda but not enough significant data to prove this theory. He feels that the variation of sperm from man to man is so great that this study couldn’t have a valid outcome.
Guess it doesn’t hurt to consume more soda if you want less chance of having kids. Drink away kiddies, just don’t forget about the dentist!
