Tax season is quickly coming to an end, and if you’re like most of America, you are scrambling to setup a time to finalize everything. Me, I look forward to the end of the tax season because that means I can throw my celebratory “tax season is over BBQ”. I’m well aware there are still some states in the US still getting coated with the cold white stuff, but us Angelenos are already picking out our swim suits.

All the Food

National Pigs in a Blanket Day

As I, and hopefully you too, start planning your BBQ festivities for this Spring/Summer, I thought I would throw some suggestions your way. Such as National Pigs in a Blanket Day on 4/24, National Prime Rib Day on 4/27, or how about the fact that April is National BLT Month. The three may not exactly go together, but they’re equally delicious! Throw in some other meats, a pasta salad or two, and you have yourself a nice little BBQ going.

Libations

Lemonade with mint

Now that we have our food out of the way, let’s get onto drinks. I’m thinking something cold and refreshing. Lemonade is always a good choice, but you have to provide options. Your best bet is to get creative with it, like by adding some mint or some sort of fresh herb, while still having the standard cold drinks, like soda, freshly brewed iced tea, or water, in the cooler. Trust me, having fun options takes the BBQ to the next level.

Pool Accessories

Donut Pool Floats

If you happen to be lucky enough to have access to a pool, and that’s where you plan on BBQing, get some floats: a large swan or perhaps a donut. Get what I’m putting down? It’s just more fun, and makes for great photos.

The #PinkRelief

Pepto-Bismol 'Insta Cool'

Last, but CERTAINLY not least: make sure you provide your guests with some Pepto-Bismol, that sweet #PinkRelief. Whether you think it’s silly or not, they will thank you after over indulging all day on delicious pigs in a blanket, bacon, burgers, and whatever else they munched on throughout the day.
