Much chatter and speculation has risen over the last few weeks over Canon’s Mirrorless EOS M camera. What would its tech specs look like, what are the color options, and how many lenses would be available? All of this was answered on July 23rd.
The EOS M comes with an DIGIC 5 imaging processor, 18.1 megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, and a 3-inch 1.04MP smudge-resistant touchscreen, not to mention packing the T4i’s hybrid AF system which will give the user a faster, sharper auto-focusing capability. This little guy weighs in at 265g and measures 108.6 x 66.5 x 32.3 mm.
It will launch in October 2012, along with two EF-M lenses – a 18-55mm f3.5/5.6 IS STM zoom and a 22mm f/2.0 STM pancake. The black version will cost $800 USD with the EF-M 22mm f/2.0 STM pancake lens. You can purchase the zoom lens separately for $300 USD. A white version will also be available but sold exclusively on Canon’s online store.
