I was in for a treat while in Vegas last month with Lowe’s and Kobalt. Not just because we were there to attend the Kobalt 400 at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, but also to be one of the first to test out Kobalt’s 24v Max Brushless tool collection.
Packing more power and speed to get the job done quicker than their competitors, the new brushless set features 7 new cordless power tools that amateurs and professionals are going to love. The series includes a Drill Driver, Impact Driver, Reciprocating Saw, Circular Saw, 1/2″ Impact Wrench, 3/8″ impact wrench, and a LED Work Light.

Drill Driver
The Kobalt 24v Brushless Drill Driver has the perfect balance of power, compact and ergonomic design. It just feels good in your hands. You’ll find that it’s great for all situations, whether you’re doing some serious drilling or securing some fasteners. (650 in-lb torque, 2-speed gear box, LED work light, 24-postion clutch, 1/2″ keyless chuck)
Impact Driver
The Kobalt 24v Brushless Impact Driver is designed to take care of those hard jobs, like when you need to drive or remove fasteners in metal, concrete, and wood. This driver features Kobalt’s FINISH function, making sure there are no mistakes in your work. (3,500 IPM impact, 1,800 in-lb torque, 1/4″ quick-release collet, LED work light, variable speed trigger)
Reciprocating Saw
The Kobalt 24v Brushless Reciprocating Saw is not only the most durable and powerful saw in its class, but it also has the highest strokes per minute in the industry. Kobalt designed it well balanced, so you let the saw do the work with very little pressure needed. (0-3100 SPM variable speed, 1-1/8″ stroke length, LED work light, manual trigger lock, tool-free blade change, adjustable shoe)
Circular Saw
The Kobalt 24v Brushless Circular Saw is a game changer. We tested it against its competitors in a speed challenge and it was the only cordless saw to cleanly cut three stacked 3/4″ plywood sheets in one pass. The other saws kept getting caught up. (6 1/2″ blade size, 0-50-degree bevel, electric brake, lightweight aluminum blade guard and shoe)
1/2-inch Impact Wrench

The Kobalt 24v Brushless 3/8 inch Impact Wrench features premium performance for fastening and breakaway. (150 ft-lb torque, LED work light, variable-speed trigger, 3/8-inch anvil, FINISH function, 3 speed settings)
LED Work Light
Not too much to say about this other than it uses LED lights, with a head rotation of 135-degrees, and produces 200 lumens.
Currently the price of the new 24v Max Brushless tool collection hasn’t been announced yet, but what they did tell us is that they plan on pricing it very competitively. This is great news for anyone in the market for some new power tools this year. Lowe’s will be selling the Brushless series in a 4-tool combo kit and a 2-tool combo kit.
