Louis Vuitton has recruited rapper Mos Def (aka Yasiin Bey) for a brilliant new ad campaign. The inspiration for the campaign arose from Vuitton’s history of promoting art and travel. For over a century, the company has been conveying the message of self-discovery and exploration. This marks the first series from Ogilvy Paris for the French luxury brand. The two videos, called “Dream” and “Word,” were inspired by Muhammad Ali; they feature “Bey” reciting the words of Ali, while moving around a boxing ring, set to original music. Also included in the video is visual artist Niels Shoe Meulman, who paints on the ring’s canvas while the rapper continues to move and speak. Due to the positive feedback, the featured music is said to be being developed into a full soundtrack. Overall, the videos are visually stunning and all-inspiring; check them out.
