We’ve all been there before: you find yourself at a party talking with someone you met a month before, but you can’t for the life of you remember their name. Humin, a new app for your iPhone (currently in beta for Android) aims to make this, as well as many other contact related problems, a thing of the past. It does this by “remembering them (your contacts) in the way you naturally think.” In this particular situation instead of searching for a name, you would search “met last month,” and voila!: up pop all of the contacts you entered in last month. Even if you happen to have Prosopagnosia (that face-blindness thing that Marky Bark has in Arrested Development), this app also allows you to enter lots of other handy information that you can later use to search and identify people with.

Humin also has lots of other cool features like helping you clean out irrelevant contact information from five phones ago, or telling you when a friend is going to be visiting your area. Try replacing your standard phone app with Humin for a week and you’ll wonder how you got by so long without it.
