I know I can’t be alone when I say that the new Armor All Ultra Shine Wash Wipes  look like they’re too good to be true. Sure, the cloths themselves are extra large, but comparatively a car is enormous. Best-case scenario that I could fathom was that it would take a whole pack to clean an entire car. However, with a price tag of only $8, they were definitely worth a try. After all, that’s exactly the cost of an automatic carwash anyway, and less than half of what you would pay for a hand wash. So, I picked up a pack. Armor All Ultra Shine Wash Wipes

The Filth

Now, I do need to preface here by telling you I’ve always been horrible about keeping my car clean. Life just always seems too busy to schedule a trip to get it done as its own errand. And when it comes to spontaneously trying to get it done, it usually means me waiting in a ridiculously long line for about 15-20 minutes before giving up and going home. When the drought rolled in I could get away with the excuse that I was being ecofriendly (apologies for the minimization). Not that this was necessarily untrue, but considering how everyone else in LA still managed to keep their cars cleaner than mine, I’m not sure this was a pass. Anyway, the point here is that at the time of this operation, my car was FILTHY. So the wipes absolutely had their work cut out for them. Wiping car with Ultra Shine Wash Wipes

The Performance

I have to say, pulling that Ultra Shine Wash Wipe out of that little package as I stood next to my grimy vehicle was a little discouraging. But I had made it this far and it was time to dive in. So, I held my breath, made a few long wipes and took a look. First off, the places I had cleaned looked fantastic! With how long dirt had been caking on I was sure I would have to take a few passes to get everything to lift off, but that was definitely not the case. Just one stroke and that was all it needed to look like new again. The dirt on Ultra Shine Wash Wipes But what about the towel itself? Even with just a small area done, with how great it looked I was sure I was nearly ready for a second cloth already. Again, not the case. I’m not sure how Armor All has done it, but they seem to have created a wipe that not only picks up dirt and gunk, but hides it. Perhaps if you opened one of these towels down the middle it would take you to a parallel universe, that “happens” to be really dirty. I don’t know, I’m just spitballing here. What I do know is that when I turned that cloth over, there were still dust marks, but not nearly enough to justify how pristine that spot on my car now was. Suddenly, the idea that I would be able to clean my entire car with these things made sense. And I did! And it only took me one third of the pack! Okay, I admit that I was experimenting a bit to see just how far these things could be stretched. Even so, just 4-5 wipes to wash an entire, positively filthy car? I was shocked and thrilled. Final Thoughts

Honestly, I don’t know how much summing up I really need to do here. I think it’s pretty clear that the Ultra Shine Wash Wipes are the real deal. Moving forward, I plan to give my car a good cleaning once a week if I can. With how well they did with a big job, I’m guessing this won’t take more than 1-2 to accomplish a small one. So, it looks like I’ll be leaving my days of having the filthiest car on the road in the dust (no, don’t pardon that pun, I’m pretty happy with it). And the best part is I won’t have to take chunks of time out of my schedule, give up on my water conservation, or spend a lot of money to do it. Armor All Ultra Shine Wash Wipes retail for about $8-$13. Checkout Armor All online for a coupon, and be sure to check out their Ultra Shine Wax Wipes too.
