Killing Your Darlings Poster

Harry Potter? What are you doing speaking in American, writing, and listening to Jazz in circa 1940’s New York? It turns out you’re playing one Allen Ginsberg (Daniel Radcliffe), who has recently begun to study at Columbia University. For those searching their Americana timeline, Ginsberg was kind of a big deal during the beat era, writing powerful poems that protested wars, sexual conformity and of course capitalism. Along side his classmate Lucien Carr (played by Dane DeHaan), and other beat writers such as William Burroughs (Ben Foster) and Jack Kerouac (Jack Huston), Potter stumbles into a murder investigation. And as a bonus, boys, Elizabeth Olsen is in this film. John Krokidas is making his big screen debut having co-written and directed this film. I for one am very intrigued to see what spells Harry conjures up to deal with the struggling American identity post World War II.

The film is set for limited release on Oct. 16th
