I admit it’s been a good, long while since I’ve been on a bike that wasn’t stationary. However, I’m thinking this might be changing really soon. It’s safe to say that it just takes one look at the AVIONICS V1 handmade electric bike before “I NEED IT” mode starts to kick in. Once you start finding out more about it, the feeling only gets stronger.

Aside from the fact that it’s just generally gorgeous as a whole, the first thing that stands out is the wooden accenting. The saddle, lamp cover, motor chest, and a few other pieces are all made from strong and beautifully oiled Jatoba wood. But that’s not all there is to say about them. The saddle hangs on a shock absorber that has been gracefully constructed to mimic a wing, giving a nod to the company name. The lamp is described as “the soul of AVIONICS”, boasting chrome plating and the brand’s logo. As for the motor chest, this is definitely the most impressive part (or, at least, I think so). Keeping the piece closed, you won’t find any screws. Instead they’ve used leather bumper belts, secure enough to keep water and dust away from the electronics and lithium-ion battery inside. And should you need to charge your phone or anything else while you’re on the go, it comes equipped with a USB port to help you do just that.

The 26” wheels and 5,000-watt brushless electric engine on this bike can carry you to a max speed of about 36mph, and almost 75 miles in street mode, on a single charge. I won’t bore you with the rest of the specs in case you’d rather spend your time here drooling over the photos. If you are interested, you can check out their Technical Details page here.

The AVIONICS V1 electric bicycle is set to preorder via INDEGOGO in September. You can sign up at the bottom of any page on their site to get access to the launch-day deal of up to 40% off.
