If you’ve always wanted to check out Komodo dragons in their natural habitat, the luxurious AYANA will soon be opening a location to help you do it in style. The award-winning resort chain currently has three amazing destinations in Bali and one in Jakarta—each known for gorgeous design, world-class hospitality, amazing food, and unbeatable service. And the upcoming AYANA Komodo Resort at Waecicu Beach (a short, one-hour flight from Bali) will be offering the same standard of experience, making it the first five-star hotel in the region.

When you first arrive at the new resort, the layout dictates that you start at the top, on the 11th floor—which is convenient because that’s exactly where you check in. Afterward, you’ll make your way down to one of their 189 premium guest rooms or 12 suites, all with an incredible view of Kukusan Island. As for the stay itself, you can spend that enjoying their private beach, three swimming pools, spa, bars, restaurants, and day trips on their catamaran and power boat.

And, of course…

…going to see some Komodo dragons. The nearby town of Labuan Bajo is considered one of the best places to venture out to see the giant lizards. However, if you were looking for a more exclusive way to do it (though the experience itself is pretty unique on its own) AYANA has you covered. In addition to the new location, they will also be introducing a nine-bedroom phinisi (traditional Indonesian sailing ship with two masts) named AYANA Lako’dia, which means “safe journey” in the local language. The ship can be booked for two- or three-night trips around the island, either by room or full charter.

As icing on the cake for what’s sure to be a phenomenal vacation, you can feel good about taking it. The AYANA Komodo Resort will be working to raise money to help Komodo National Park develop facilities, and enhance the training and safety of the rangers.
